Welcome to Covid Kitchens!

So today I needed to mix things up as a realised I had spent too long on the lap top in the world of work and covid isolation. I took to the kitchen gathered some simple ingredients, chopped, sautéed, added flavoured, stirred and created a very simple chicken risotto. Which got me thinking about what others were creating in their kitchens and that it might be great to check in and share! Have posted the pic below. This dish is incredibly simple and unsophisticated but evoked memories of impressing my parents with it recently and it became a staple when my cousins daughter came to live with me in Melbourne after getting her first job as a graphic designer. She loved it! She’s now back home in rural New South Wales due to isolation but I have such fond recollections of cooking and sharing this with her. What have you been cooking recently and what memories has this evoked of times with loved ones?

Covid Kitchen

Connecting via our kitchens…since time immemorial we have connected with friends and family via shared rituals, many of which include sharing a meal. It’s the case across cultures and generations. The symbology of food is great! With the advent of the Coronavirus many of these rituals are in jeapordy. I’m hoping that this blog may provide a way for us all to keep connected by sharing how we might be producing, sourcing, preparing and serving our food. Discussing what’s changed and what has stayed the same. Sharing, connecting and creating together!
